Diamondbacks center fielder A.J. Pollock left Sunday’s Cactus League game against the San Francisco Giants after experiencing tightness in his left groin while rounding the bases following a leadoff home run.
Pollock, who missed most of last season after suffering a fractured elbow, exited in the second inning at Scottsdale Stadium.
Manager Torey Lovullo said Pollock would be evaluated later Sunday afternoon at the team’s training facility at Salt River Fields and again on Monday, which is an off day for the Diamondbacks.
“I don’t think it’s going to be anything that lingers, but we just want to be safe at this point,” Lovullo said.
